Aao Chalein 4.0: A Massive Crowd Turns Up for Lucknow’s Biggest Health Walk, ApolloMedics Spreads the Message of Fighting Diabetes
The ‘Aao Chalein 4.0 Walkathon,’ organized by ApolloMedics Super Specialty Hospital, turned into a grand celebration of health and awareness on Sunday morning in Lucknow. Centered around this year’s theme, “Fight Diabetes,” the event saw over 6,000 participants from various parts of the city marching for fitness starting from the LDA Colony. Now in its fourth edition, the event has firmly established itself as the biggest health walk in the city.
The program was flagged off by Mr. Indrajit Singh, Director, UPNEDA; Dr. Mayank Somani, CEO & MD, ApolloMedics Hospital; and Dr. Abhishek Yadav, Senior Director & Head of Liver Transplant and HPB Surgery, ApolloMedics Hospital. The event began at 6 AM with an energetic Zumba and warm-up session that saw enthusiastic participation from people of all age groups. This was followed by the health walk and sports bike ride, as participants pledged to spread awareness about diabetes control and healthy living.
Dr. Abhishek Yadav said, “A healthy liver is the center of our body’s energy and metabolism. Lifestyle diseases like diabetes directly impact the liver, which is why regular exercise and a balanced diet are crucial not only for sugar control but also for maintaining liver health. Events like ‘Aao Chalen’ inspire people to walk and stay active—one of the simplest yet most effective steps for liver as well as overall health.”
Dr. Mayank Somani, CEO & MD of ApolloMedics Super Specialty Hospital, said, “Aao Chalen Walkathon is not just an event—it is a movement toward collective health awareness. This year, our focus was on preventing diabetes, a rapidly rising lifestyle disease. Our message is clear: every step counts. By walking a few steps every day, we can significantly improve our lives.”
He further added, “The enthusiasm of the people of Lucknow is the biggest indicator of this event’s success. Through this initiative, ApolloMedics will continue to work toward bringing positive change in society regarding fitness and health.”
At the end of the program, participants were awarded certificates, and doctors discussed the importance of healthy eating, regular exercise, and health checkups for diabetes prevention. ApolloMedics’ initiative stands as an inspiring example of public awareness and community participation for better health in the city.
