Amity University students learned the intricacies of urban water management at the Bharwara STP
Students from Amity University's Department of Microbiology conducted an educational tour of the 345 MLD Bharwara Sewage Treatment Plant (STP) on Thursday. The purpose of the visit was to gain firsthand knowledge of modern technological processes in urban water management and sewage treatment.
During the tour, the students inspected various units of the plant and thoroughly understood the step-by-step process of sewage treatment. The technical team from Suez (OCOP) demonstrated how wastewater is scientifically treated and converted into usable water. The students were also taught how such projects in urban waste management contribute to water conservation and the achievement of sustainable development goals.
Dr. Jyoti Prakash, Assistant Professor at Amity University, stated that such programs connect students with the ground realities of urban infrastructure and its management, enabling them to play a key role in policy decisions and implementation in the future.
The students found this exposure visit to be highly informative and inspiring and stressed the need for more such technical visits.
