SUEZ Engages Future Engineers in Conversation on Coimbatore's 24x7 Water Supply Project

Coimbatore : SUEZ brought the Coimbatore 24x7 Water Supply Project into the Auditorium Hall, giving more than 100 students of Dhanalakshmi Srinivasan College of Engineering an opportunity to hear directly from the professionals leading the initiative. The interaction moved beyond a technical presentation, opening conversations on how a continuous water supply system is planned, executed and managed in a growing city, while giving students the chance to understand the engineering decisions behind the project from the team responsible for delivering it.

The programme began with Principal Dr. C. Jegadheesan welcoming the SUEZ delegation and the students gathered for the event. Mr. Laurent ROUSSELLE, Chief Financial Officer, India & Subcontinent, SUEZ Group, attended the programme as the Chief Guest.

Instead of limiting the session to a technical presentation, the speakers encouraged students to explore the project beyond textbooks. The technical session was led by Mr. Sangram Pattanayak, Project Director SUEZ - 24x7 Water Supply Project, along with Mr. Prakash C, O&M Senior Manager. Rather than focusing only on theory, the two speakers used examples from the project to help students understand the scale of the work and the practical challenges that come with operating a continuous water supply system.

The discussion continued well beyond the presentation. Students raised several questions on project execution, day-to-day operations, network management and the technologies used in delivering uninterrupted water supply. Members of the SUEZ team responded to each query, turning the session into an open exchange rather than a one-way lecture.

"Engineering is best understood when you can connect theory with work happening on the ground," said Mr. Sangram Pattanayak, Project Director, SUEZ 24x7 Water Supply Project. "We wanted students to hear directly from professionals working on this project, ask questions without hesitation and understand the decisions that go into delivering a reliable water supply system. We hope today's interaction encourages some of them to build careers that improve urban infrastructure."

The programme reflected SUEZ's continued efforts to engage with academic institutions and create opportunities for future engineers to learn from real infrastructure projects through direct interaction with industry professionals.
