ASCI and Wash Conducted Safety Survey of Suez Workers in the Field

The Administrative Staff College of India (ASCI), in collaboration with the Urban Development Department of the Government of Uttar Pradesh, conducted a comprehensive safety survey of Suez workers engaged in field operations on Thursday. This initiative aimed to assess and enhance safety practices among sewage cleaning workers and staff at Suez facilities.

On Thursday, a dedicated team from ASCI conducted a ground survey at the Zone 7 office of Suez located in C Block, Indira Nagar, at the Jal Kal Water tank premises. The survey focused on over 30 sewer cleaning workers, gathering insights into their experiences with safety protocols, personal protective equipment (PPE) usage, and overall safety practices.

During the survey, workers expressed positive feedback regarding the impact of safety training provided by the Suez Safety Team. Many highlighted the importance of PPE kits, including gloves, goggles, hand grabbers, reflective jackets, helmets, and safety shoes, in improving their work environment and ensuring their safety.

Additionally, the ASCI team visited the Bharwara Sewage Treatment Plant (STP) and engaged with over 100 workers to understand the health and safety practices implemented during their work. Dr. Snehlata, representing ASCI faculty, remarked, "Having an international organization like Suez brings the best safety practices from around the world is very encouraging. Workers have also expressed satisfaction with the safety measures implemented by the organization, which ensures their well-being. It’s amazing to see how Suez has made the safety gears accessible to its workers and are also incentivised to use them and as part of the best practices.”

Rajesh Mathpal, Project Director at Suez, emphasized the company's commitment to safety, stating, "Suez's safety mantra is that every worker is ANGRAKSHAK (Protector) of his colleague, his brother, and his community. We instil life-saving rules at the site and in our daily lives, and all of us adhere to them to ensure no harm ever occurs to anyone at the site."
The safety survey conducted by ASCI and Wash underscores Suez's unwavering dedication to prioritizing the safety and well-being of its workforce. Through continuous training, awareness programs, and the implementation of best practices, Suez remains steadfast in its mission to create a safe working environment for all employees.
