Experience the timeless tale of Ramayana comes alive in Lucknow as Phoenix Palassio unveils its grand Diwali celebration
As part of its India Celebrates at Phoenix festive campaign, Phoenix Palassio, Lucknow, is set to create a landmark Diwali moment with a larger-than-life celebration inspired by the timeless tale of the Ramayana. The evening will bring together a majestic 28-ft Dhanush, an intricately crafted Sita Swayamvar-inspired décor, artistic performances and what Phoenix Palassio describes as India’s first-ever drone show by a mall — culminating in a spectacular fireworks display.
Phoenix Palassio has previously brought iconic chapters of Indian heritage to life through its festive installations, including Ashoka Vatika and Janaki Palace. Continuing this storytelling journey, the mall now turns to the timeless tale of Ram and Sita, bringing the grandeur of Sita Swayamvar to life for audiences in Lucknow.
At the heart of the celebration is “Where Destinies Met”, a grand artistic interpretation of Swayamvar, inspired by the iconic moment when Lord Ram lifts the sacred Shiv Dhanush and unites with Goddess Sita.
The centrepiece is a magnificent 28-ft Dhanush, set against an intricately crafted visual landscape inspired by the grandeur of a royal palace. More than 50,000 hand-cut mirrors, individually hand-pasted by skilled artisans, add an extraordinary dimension to the installation, creating a dramatic interplay of light, reflection and craftsmanship.
Flowing blue and pink fabrics represent Lord Ram and Goddess Sita, while floral elements add elegance and softness to the majestic setting. The installation is further brought to life with 36 metal props, three Peacock Lamps, eight chandeliers, four large Lotus Props and two smaller Lotus Props, creating a detailed visual interpretation of one of India’s most enduring cultural narratives.
The scale and detailing of the installation reflect an extensive creative effort, with the décor crafted over more than 36 days with the involvement of more than 50 people.
Adding to the grandeur of the celebration, Sakshi Malik will make a special celebrity appearance at Phoenix Palassio, further elevating the evening and adding to the excitement surrounding the grand Diwali festivities.
Taking the celebration beyond the physical installation, Phoenix Palassio will present a spectacular 500-drone show, creating a larger-than-life visual experience with a vibrant cultural theme. The synchronised aerial spectacle will light up the night sky, bringing together technology, art and Indian cultural expression in a breathtaking celebration.
The evening will further feature special performances, complemented by classical artists presenting India’s rich traditions of music, dance and storytelling.
Speaking about the celebrations, Sanjeev Sarin, Retail Director (North), Phoenix Mills, said, “Festivals have always been a powerful medium for Phoenix Mills to build an emotional connection with our customers. At Phoenix Palassio, we have always believed in setting benchmarks and creating experiences that are great, big and truly epic. Continuing this philosophy, this Diwali we bring the timeless story of Sita Swayamvar to life through a larger-than-life transformation of our South Atrium. By blending India’s rich cultural heritage with scale, creativity and contemporary experiences, Phoenix Palassio continues to create celebrations that go beyond décor to become memorable cultural experiences—grand in scale, rooted in tradition and truly unforgettable.”
The celebrations at Phoenix Palassio will continue with Durga Pujo from October 11 to 20, bringing another vibrant cultural experience to the mall through a curated programme of activities, performances and festive celebrations.
With India Celebrates at Phoenix bringing together art, culture, craftsmanship, technology and festive experiences, Phoenix Palassio invites Lucknow to experience the timeless story of Sita Swayamvar in an extraordinary new way — where India's cultural heritage meets contemporary spectacle.
