Greater Noida : In a defining moment for Uttar Pradesh’s ambitious media and entertainment push, shooting for Mom 2 is currently underway at the upcoming Bayview Bhutani Filmcity in Greater Noida, making it the first film project to go on floors at the filmcity as construction and infrastructure development continue in phases.

27 Feb 2025 the land was given for aquisition. Within a year, set construction started and Mom 2 started its shoot on location at Bayview Bhutani Film City. Crucial sequences and climax of the film are being shot there.

A few more films are going to be shot at the Film City this year. The sets erected will be kept as it is even after the shoot is done so that they are available for other films, OTT shows to shoot, as required.

Mom 2 stars Nawazuddin Siddiqui, Khushi Kapoor, Karishma Tanna, Jisshu Sengupta and Manoj Pahwa among others.

The film is directed by Girish Kohli who co-wrote Mom (2017) and Produced by Boney Kapoor and Akshai Puri under their banners Bayview Projects & 12th Street Entertainment respectively.

Industry insiders describe the commencement of filming as “symbolic and strategic,” underscoring the state government’s intent to position the Film City as a serious alternative to established production hubs such as Mumbai and Hyderabad, and on par with international studios.

“Seeing Mom 2 roll cameras here is deeply emotional for me. This Film City was envisioned as a world-class creative hub, and beginning its journey with an actual film shoot, not just a foundation stone makes it truly special. We are building not just infrastructure, but an ecosystem for storytellers,” Boney Kapoor said.

The project is being developed by Bayview Bhutani Film City Pvt. Ltd., led by Boney Kapoor in collaboration with the Bhutani Group, under an agreement with the Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authority. Priority shooting zones were readied to allow filming before full completion.

Expressing his happiness on the occasion Ashish Bhutani, CEO of Bhutani Infra, stated, “Today is a proud moment for us. The International Film City will generate new employment opportunities in the region and accelerate overall development. This project will not only benefit Uttar Pradesh but also position India prominently on the global film map.”

Located near the upcoming Jewar International Airport, the Film City is planned as a world-class production hub with sound stages, backlots, post-production, and hospitality facilities.
