The Biggest Celebration of Bihar's Desi Flavors and Culture at Hotel Hometel
The authentic taste of Bihar's desi kitchen, traditional dishes, and the warmth of its folk culture are now going to give the people of Lucknow a special experience. Hotel Hometel is organizing a 'Bihari Food Festival' from May 22 to May 31. This festival will not just be about excellent food, but will also be a wonderful opportunity to closely experience the rich culture, tradition, and unmatched hospitality of Bihar.
Guests at the festival will get to experience many special flavors from Bihar's traditional kitchen. The beverages will include Sattu ka Sharbat, Bel ka Sharbat, and Desi Mattha. Meanwhile, traditional dishes like Chana Dal Tikki, Lal Saag Pakoda, Ghugni Chaat, Tarua, and Dal Pitha will be served as snacks. Among the vegetarian main courses, the prime attraction will be 'Litti Chokha', which will be prepared with the authentic desi taste of hearth smoke. Apart from this, dishes like Sem ki Tarkari, Kathal ka Kofta, Sarson wali Bhindi, and Kadhi Badi will be part of the menu.
In the main course, guests can enjoy Bhuna Bhaat, Tadke wala Ghee Pulao, traditional Tehri, Makhana Dal, Sattu Paratha, and Matar Heeng Puri, which will directly remind them of the taste of village kitchens. For non-vegetarian lovers, 'Champaran Mutton' will be the biggest attraction of this festival, which will be cooked in the traditional way by dum-cooking it in an earthen pot (handi). In addition, delicious dishes like Bhojpuri Mutton Curry, Dehati Murgi, and Lahsuni Chulha Bater will be prepared using special spices and pure mustard oil. There will also be a special arrangement of Sarson wali Machhli (mustard fish) and Fish Fry for seafood lovers.
For those with a sweet tooth, Bihar's signature sweets like Thekua, Ras Pua, Malpua Rabdi, and Makhana Kheer will be served. To enhance the flavor of the food, Coriander-Mint & Garlic chutney, delicious Parwal Chokha, and Meetha Paan will also be available.
This food festival will be led by Chef Rachna Prasad, who has been honored with prestigious awards like the Home Chef of India and Chef & Baker by the Governor of Bihar, among others. Rooted in the soil of Patna, Rachna is a well-known culinary expert who has given a new identity to Bihar's traditional flavors. She has worked to take the dishes made for generations in Bihar's villages, festivals, and homes to the country and the world. By presenting traditional flavors like Litti Chokha, Champaran Mutton, Dal Pitha, and Thekua in a modern style, she has given a new identity to Bihar's rich culinary culture. Through many food festivals, pop-up dining experiences, and special culinary events, she has been connecting people with the authentic aroma and taste of Bihari food.
Along with the flavors, the entire hotel will be painted in the colors of Bihar, decorated with Madhubani paintings, earthen pots, lanterns, and beautiful rangolis.
