SGPGI Nursing students delivered a strong "No Plastic" message at a SUEZ India event

Lucknow: On the occasion of Republic Day, SUEZ India organized an exposure tour for students at the Bharwara Sewage Treatment Plant in Lucknow. In this tour, 150 students from various institutions participated, including College of Nursing, SGPGI IMS; Government Polytechnic, Bahraich; and St. Mary's College of Nursing. On this occasion, students from College of Nursing, SGPGI IMS presented a highly impactful skit on environmental conservation, based on the "No Plastic" campaign under the Swachh Bharat Abhiyan. This presentation was honored with the first prize by SUEZ India.

The tour began with a visit to the Bharwara STP premises. Students were briefed about the structure of STP and its various components. They were informed about how the STP functions and the technologies it employs for sewage treatment.

Officials from the Urban Development Department of the Uttar Pradesh government provided students with information about urban infrastructure and development.

Experienced engineers of SUEZ India engaged in an interactive discussion with students on environmental engineering and sustainable practices. The engineers explained that environmental engineering is a branch focused on developing new technologies and practices to save our environment. They also discussed sustainable practices that help mitigate harmful effects on the environment, such as recycling and developing waste management systems. New methods to reduce pollution were also highlighted.

At the end of the tour, SUEZ  India distributed T-shirts and certificates to students. These certificates will enhance the CVs of these students and demonstrate their commitment to continuous learning and professional development.

Speaking about the tour, Mr.Rajesh Mathpal, Project Director of SUEZ under the One City One Operator Scheme, said, "This exposure visit provided students with a unique platform to understand, learn, discuss, and gain valuable knowledge about the crucial role of sustainable practices in urban development."
